Lucy

Lucy just came from the groomer...don't know how long the bow will last! She is 5 months old a really cuddley and sweet. This is the second Shih Tzu that we have had and we love the breed; she suits our home life. Maybe, someday I will paint her.

Lone Oak

This 20 x 20 oil painting is all about the misty, soft colors and the lone oak tree. This is an impressionistic style that allows the viewer to interpret; very relaxing to look at this lovely scene. Offered at my Etsy store: www.etsy.com/shop/trudybeardlazaroe.

Stormy Day in Florida

Good Morning! I woke up to loud thunder and decided to get up and start the day; we need the rain, and I love rainy days...especially when I can spend the day painting and creating. What do you like to do on a rainy day?

Here are three new posts...Nest with Feather, Sailboat at Sunset, and Lone Oak. Let me know what you think?

Nest with Feather

I collect birds nests and I am endlessly facinated by the different construction techniques each type of bird uses. Here is the beginning of a series of 16 x 16 oil paintings, with a birds-eye view of these charming little bird homes. What do you collect?
Offered on Etsy store: www.etsy.com/shop/trudybeardlazaroe

Rainy Day in Port Orange

A warm, steady rain lasted all day. This was a perfect day to stay in the studio and paint.

Last evening, I gathered sweet miniature roses from my garden and put them in a little cream pitcher. This morning, I decided to paint my little set-up on a 6"x6" gallery wrapped canvas. My challenge was to allow the vivid roses to dominate the painting, while creating an interesting white pitcher and light background. I think I achieved this by adding subtle color to the background and pitcher and allowing the roses to dominate. This was painted in oils (my favorite medium).

Tomorrow I will open my brand new Etsy shop called Trudy Beard Lazaroe Art.  I will offer this painting and others and some little surprises from time to time. Take a look and let me know what you think.

Also, I hope you will take a minute and check out my website: http://www.trudybearddesigns.com/ AND, if you are on Facebook, look me up and we can be FB friends!

It's another gorgeous day here in sunny Florida and I will be outside for much of the day, then in my studio painting; hopefully some of my blooming roses...I will post the results!
